Dear Wisconsin Humanists
I am delighted to learn of all the humanistic drive and activity percolating among our northerly neighbors.  Please let me know if I can be helpful in any way. As a start, I encourage anyone who can make it to join us (the Ethical Humanist Society of Chicago) at Conference Point on Lake Geneva for the Memorial Day weekend. We generally have between 30 and 60 people, half of them kids, from lunchtime on Saturday through noon on Monday. You would be welcome at any of the activities (see our newsletter on our website). If more than a couple of people are coming it would be helpful to know the numbers, so we can let the Conference Center know and they will be sure to have adequate food. If any would like to stay the night that can be arranged as well. The Center charges us $5 for lunch, $6.50 for dinner and $60.50/adult for a single night stay including lunch and dinner, children are prorated dependent on age. Ken Novak is handling our arrangements and reservations at Conference Point. I include ... the web sites for the Ethical Society (ethicalhuman.org) and Conference Point (www.conference-point.org).
Don't hesitate to call if there are any questions. Unfortunately, I cannot be at Lake Geneva next week, but I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.  I think we have lots to share with one another. Perhaps JoAnn and I (and also Aimee and her son Will) could come for a visit. Aimee works on children's programs for the American Ethical Union.
Are you in contact with Brian Solomon in the Madison area? His Dad is active in the Baltimore Ethical Society and the American Ethical Union, and would be a valuable resource on his visits to Madison.
Best regards
Thomas Hoeppner
